Jessica is a Southern artist and metalsmith. She was raised in a small town in Georgia where her father is a printmaker. Her family home was overflowing with lithographs, etchings and paintings and most of her days were spent roaming the nearby woods and fields. Jessica’s metalwork today is greatly influenced by the two dimensional prints and the natural discoveries (insects, bones and feathers) of her childhood. She combines traditional techniques like repousse and chasing with untraditional found objects to create detailed pieces of wearable art. With her artworks she hopes to invoke both memories of a time of wonder and a reminder of places on the brink of being lost.
